I think Courtney would have been happy spending all her time riding the carousel. She rode #99 once and #20 three times.
I enjoyed riding and shooting pictures.
Doug took the kids to eat at Casey’s Corner.

The fireworks were truly spectacular
and it felt like we were in the middle of them.
It was thrilling!
We loved being with them at Disney Nightastic!
Our adventure started right after breakfast today when we drove quite a long way to patronize this exciting place.
Courtney had such great success with her diamond kite that she chose another one with a turtle design.
That left Papa and I, and, of course, ours had to be a sled.

It is a beautiful, cool, white sand beach. We parked our car right on the beach and enjoyed our Publix picnic. We also thought it was very handy having all our kite gear right where we would be using it.
Courtney had her kite up in a couple of minutes…literally.
She flew the turtle kite for a quite a while. Then we hooked it onto the camp chair. Then, she pulled Ultra Star out of the back of the car and up it went straightaway.
She is a pro!
She looks like a pro as well with her kite glove and all.
Meanwhile…
Papa was learning how to fly a dual line kite. He no sooner learned himself than he was engaged in teaching Carter the gist of it.
It was tricky, but not too tricky for him.
The dual line cannot fly on its own. After Carter became an expert at flying it, he pulled it in. Doug launched the sled. Then he did an excellent job tending the kites while I read and watched the kids enjoy the sand and surf.
Both of the kids received a Camp Manual thanks to My Best Kite.
When Carter asked me how much he had to read, I told him to only read what was interesting to him.
I found both of them still reading twenty minutes later.
They made a list of supplies we would need and then we headed to Wal-Mart with our checklist.
There were “3 Extremely Simple Kits For Adults Or Big Kids!” listed in their materials. Courtney decided to make the Simple Diamond Kite that she named
Ultra Star.
Carter made the Simple Delta Kite that he named
Spartans.
So that left the Simple Sled Kite for me. I named it
Theme.
We are off to launch.
Sadly…this is as high as the Spartans flew today.
However,
the Ultra Star flew ultra high!
She used all 450 feet of it’s line.
Theme also flew…but not nearly as high as Ultra Star.
Carter appeased his sadness whipping the air with his spar (dowel).
It makes a wonderful noise.
The weather predictions were actually quite dire. This morning though, while making potato salad, I looked out the window and thought that we could get in a little tennis since it was dry at the moment. Tricia, Dan, Doug and I ended up playing for a couple of hours.
Once home again, we thought we might get in a little bit of lake time. We spent nearly fours hours on the water with the Berges before the afternoon storm broke.
A little bit later, the Berges and the Gronlunds joined us for a barbeque and games. The city fireworks were canceled because of weather, but we came home and wrote our names in the sky with sparklers and threw poppers.
It was a great celebration!
