We missed Truman's birthday party on Saturday and so today we did one of our very favorite California adventures with him.
First, though, we stopped off at the Scout House in Costa Mesa where there is a list of all the
Eagle Scouts in Orange County, California since 1922. Papa showed Truman where his name was on the list. He is a few years from being a cub scout so Truman has a Scout buddy T-shirt in the meantime.
We rode the car ferry from Balboa Island to the Newport Peninsula.
There is a great merry-go-round
and ferris wheel right next to the water.
Melanie and I had dinner with my friends Phyllis and Sandy at the Crab Cooker. We had a great time chatting and laughing. It was a blessing for me to spend time with these wonderful women who have been such an inspiration in my life.
Meanwhile, Papa was having a good time with the kids at Ruby's Diner on the Newport Pier.
We went back on the ferry to Balboa Island where we had Balboa Bars for dessert. Yummy!
Love you Tru!
