Here we are at Nellis Air Force Base, home of the Thunderbirds. We attended the VIP rehearsal for the annual air show taking place tomorrow.
Think: loud sounds (we wore ear plugs for most of the day)
perfect weather (it was in the mid 70's with a breeze)
tons of planes and not very many people so we could fully appreciate the inside outside figure 8's and the hammerhead drops and the positive and negative G's and the inside loop and right knife edge and left knife edge turns. I learned about harrier passes and a slew of other kinds too.
Predators like this one are unmanned flights flown by satellite from a base near Nellis. They fly missions over Iraq and Afghanistan everyday.
Heritage Pass: P51, F15, F22

Thanks Kyle! We loved spending the day with you. We are grateful for you and all the people who protect our country in ways that we can't even imagine.
