Chezzie wrote the very best Sports Commentaries for our March Madness this year. I loved them all, but here is the final one.
Alright ya'll...sorry for the delay. I had to catch my breath after all of that craziness on Sunday night. Of course in classic fashion, after stating everything I wished for (Duke and Florida winning), the exact opposite happened. First, Michigan vs. Florida. This wasn't even ever really a game. Florida got completely outplayed in the first 10 minutes, and never fully recovered the rest of the game. Izzy was the only one who called this one (as well as my friend who went to Michigan and probably those people who bought Tricia and Dan's Tampa house since they liked the "Michigan" colors so much).
So Izzy still has some PPR left, and if Michigan wins again, it's possible for Izzy to end up in 3rd place.
The loss by Florida saw HermanaMoo1 a.k.a thecutestturtleever, and HermanaMoo2 a.k.a spanishspeakerextraordinaire(butshe'llendupgoingtopocatelloonhermissionanyway), in the dust and set up the showdown between DanSTILLnottheman and Carter. Enter Duke and Louisville. Now, I refuse to watch the video of that player with his shin snapping in half, because, well...that's just nasty, but I did read the news articles about it, and it sounds epically bad. Speaking of epically bad, did all of you see that our lovely President (not presidente) went 2 for 22 on the bball court playing by himself? I loved the commentary by the boys over at PTI (if you don't know what PTI is or what it stands for...I feel sorry for you)...so here it is for your viewing pleasure....the lay-up was my favorite (Yikesabee! Walk away man...walk away).
Anyway, back to the game. Of course the rest is history...which is why I love sports, in general, so much...team rallies around the injured player...said injured player tells the team to go get 'em....team promises to win it for him....said team flounders in the first few minutes, but then rallies in the second half for the win. While I would love Wichita State to go to the Finals, I don't know how you root against Louisville at this point. You would be cold and heartless to do so. Cold...and....Heartless.
In the end, Carter got exactly what he wanted (even though he didn't know what he wanted...and we had to tell him), and he clinched The Championship for our league this year. Well done Carter!!! Brownie points to Courtney for being funny on the email exchange. Ishtarnator ends up where she spent most of her Tourney days...in 2nd place. BYUbird had her rally cap on and is currently in 3rd above DanSTILLNOTtheman. I hope you will all watch the final games this weekend and next...even though our league is all but finished, there is always some madness to be found! Love ~ IndoChez
