Today we went to Temaikèn. It is a zoo located in Belén de Escobar in the Buenos Aires vicinity. It happens to be the only zoo in the country that belongs to the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (previously American Zoo and Aquarium Association). It was the most beautiful zoo any of us have ever visited. Everywhere you looked, it was just gorgeous. The zoo specializes in native Argentine wildlife and exotic and threatened species. We saw some very cool looking creatures! And we had the place to ourselves!
We fell in love with this monkey right away because he willingly put on a show for us and delighted the boys to no end several times. I could have sat and watched him all day.
Delighted.
None of us will ever feel the same about bats again.
As Elliot said in his journal that day, "Today was an awesome day because we went to the zoo!"
