Doug and I went to a joint stake activity celebrating LDS Prom. I wore the dress my mother wore after she was married in the temple for her wedding pictures! I always think of my mom and being bigger than I am. However, I am reminded that when I see my daughters, they often comment on how small I am. Maybe its just that moms have such an important place in the lives of their children that they think of them as physically big! I don’t know?!?

the lake princess drives again
When the missionaries were over doing a little service project, they asked what my feelings were about the lake. I think they were a little surprised by my answer. “I am the Lake Princess,” I told them, as any one of my grandkids can attest. The grandkids have also learned that I am willing to take them out on the lake at a moment’s notice, 6 days a week. Courtney, Jonah and Izzy took me up on it both before and after the gymnastics competition. They decided that life was just perfect because they didn’t even have to wait for rides. It was just go, Go, GO!

carter’s gymnastics
It’s been about 4 years since we’ve seen our talented gymnast compete. This year the regional championships were held in West Palm Beach. We thoroughly enjoyed cheering for him!

other stuff we did in utah
I’ll tell you what! It was cold!!! It snowed before we got there, and it snowed after we left, and there was plenty of cold around. We went to dinner in Park City. I wasn’t a huge fan of the restaurant, but it was in an old house and barn, which was interesting.
We spend some time shopping at City Creek. That was fun! Later, we went to the This Is The Place monument.
We were grateful to be staying at John and Joy’s beautiful home in Heber. I’ll never forget waking up that first day to a royal blue sky and watching the moon set behind the mountains.
Every evening the deer would come down and nibble on the few greens that were available on the property. We saw dozens of deer!

watching conference with our missionaries
Sunday, some of our office elders and zone leaders were able to come by the house and it sure was fun remembering “the good old days!”

hermanas
We had breakfast with the amazing Diane up at Sundance. It sure was fun catching up with her, and we sure hope that we will be able to see her awesome husband next time!
Saturday night, we invited the mission hermanas to visit with us at the house. Unfortunately, we didn’t remember to take a picture until very late when a bunch of them were already gone. It was so interesting to me that they had to introduce themselves to one another. I think of all of the missionaries as a group, but especially with the hermanas, it is easy to miss one another as they serve at different times. No matter, within minutes, connections were made and we were off and running having a great time!

mission reunion #2
Presidente was telling the missionaries about his conversation with President Benton. President Benton was kidnapped and his car was stolen and after we left, President Robertson was kidnapped and his car was stolen, but we are not sure why that never happened to us. It was at that moment that one of the more boisterous elders yelled out, “Presidente, you are even intimidating to the robbers!” It was hysterical!
