These are my three laurels that attended tonight. Sarah Montgomery, Mickey Anderson and Nashua Lugo.

And this is my cute laurel that moved to the Leesburg Ward, but she is still mine in my heart. I miss Jordan Matthews.

bishop's storehouse

(With thanks to Debbie Clayton for the pictures and captions for this post.)

Storehouse22

On Friday afternoon the YW went to the Bishop's Storehouse to do service.

Some of us actually worked...although I seem to remember a lot of "supervising" from this particular leader ;)

Some of us slept...

Some of us danced...

Some of us cooked...

And some of us entertained.

Actually, we all worked and had a great time doing it and then we went to the Florida Mall for some more adventures when we finished.

here and gone

That Fast.

Doug had to torment Carter before they left  however. He saw Carter's gucka under the kitchen table when we were having dinner and confiscated it. Then he drove ahead of Tricia and her family waving the gucka out of his sunroof as they were leaving town. Tricia had to endure the squeals and anguish that he enjoyed imagining.

The weather was much warmer today and we spent a couple of hours on the lake this afternoon. Jonah didn't seem to mind that the water was still pretty cold for Florida. When he wasn't spinning and jumping waves on the waverunner, he was hanging out in the water...even long after the others were warming themselves on the dock. Izzy got a little more than she bargained for braving deeper and deeper waters. Good thing she was wearing a life vest!  Among other wildlife, Corky spied turtles, herons and ducks as she rode around the lake. No eagles spotted today. Carter was a huge help getting the waverunner back and forth as we were loading and unloading passengers.

I'll miss these cute faces, but look forward to talking on the phone until I get to see them again.

inside outside upstairs and down

We spent most of the morning on the third floor. Tricia was helping out sorting genealogy and the kids were playing games and legos.

DSC04593For some outside time it was running around birdhouse forest playing with nerf guns.

Too cold for the lake today, so the kids had some water time in the bathtub.

After dinner we made a trip to the dollar store where Courtney got a pink water gun, Carter got a variety pack of weapons, JB opted for a stegosaurus and Izzy wanted the Mickey balloon because she loves Mickey even though it is not her birthday.

After enjoying their purchases for a while, Papa had fun playing Wii games with them until bedtime.

blustery day

The kids and their mom arrived around noon. After lunch Courtney, Brianna and I went to the grocery store while everyone else didn't nap. Courtney kept her fingers crossed all the way through the grocery store hoping so much that we could go down to the lake. The weather was not ideal. In fact, it poured rain while we were in the store. Nevertheless, they wanted to go so off we went. Note that Doug is wearing jeans and a long sleeve shirt.DSC04540DSC04560

Tricia is wearing a sweatshirt.

Later, IzzyBella found her watering can from Christmas and decided the garden needed some attention.

Then she had fun playing on the outside stairs and making funny faces at me while I was working in the kitchen.

Courtney and I made dinner which included her favorite, Key Lime Pie, HOMEMADE. It was quite yummy. Tonight, Doug and Tricia played tennis against Linda Teets and I. Alas, the wind was blowing in their favor.

i'm lonley

A few weeks ago I went to Charlotte to visit Tricia's family. While Courtney was waiting for me to wake up the first morning she made this  picture. We often play "Bears in the Bed" when we are together. 001

Tonight I am sitting on my couch wearing the very same jammies she drew in the picture. I am thinking of  their four cute faces--Courtney and her siblings--and with eager anticipation, waiting for tomorrow when they will begin their spring break here, with me, in Florida. I won't be "lonley" and we will have lots of fun including our morning snuggle, tickle, hide-and-seek, singsong time.

Five bears in the bed and the little one said
"I’m crowded, roll over"
So they all rolled over, and one fell out

good men

With the media promoting the inane and insane much of the time, it is always a much anticipated event for me to watch the

conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints

every April and October. It is  my blessing to spend the weekend listening and pondering. The inspiring messages and calls to action enhance my life and influence my direction. I know they are men of God. I know they lead along a road directed back to our Heavenly Father via the Savior.

getting new strings

It all started while playing tennis the other day and the comment was made that my strings sounded like they were too loose. The guy who strung my racket for me told me in the nicest way possible that it was time for me to use a grown up racket. I have loved my Slazenger Quad Jr! But I do realize that my game might improve with better equipment. He recommended that I go and see John at E Tennis.

DSC04535 DSC04537 DSC04538

Even though we kept him at work on Friday night well past the normal closing time, John patiently taught and made recommendations. I was glad that Doug was there to help me remember all those things and advise me as well.

And then I chose.

It could be a while before I can make lightning though!

services swap

When Brianna was asked to babysit this week, she said yes. But then she asked her future employer if she could be paid with highlights and a haircut. As it happened, she received payment before services were rendered. DSC04530

DSC04534

Then, in an unexpected turn of events, her job was canceled for this week.   She was disappointed, however, she looks forward to payback soon.

But the new hair color and style...

she just loves it!

And I love my new look too that was an extraordinary bonus :)
