the sunday before christmas

The boys found so much joy in the few gifts that were under the tree.
Today, we all went to church together.  Last week, the boys practiced a Christmas song with the Primary and despite the fact that it was in Spanish, they were eager to participate in Sacrament Meeting today.  Nolan saw his brothers go up and would not be left behind.  A few moments into the song, he realized just how much attention he was getting up on the stand and got his case of "shy disease".  It comes on suddenly and violently and Nolan hid himself behind his brothers.  Truman and Elliot gave each other a little smile and sang their Spanish hymn all the better...shoulder to shoulder.  I was so pleased that those big brothers kept it together, hiding Nolan and protecting him too.

Elliot had woken up with an ear ache that morning, so after church, the area doctor who is in the ward, propped Elliot up on the church table and had a look.  Then, we all got to have a look at his raging infection! A few minutes later we knew what we needed to go pick up at the pharmacy and we were on our way.  Best doctor visit ever.
