geocaching

DSC08763

The six of us decided to take a little geocaching adventure along the line of the tren de la costa. It is a little tourist train about a 20 minute walk from the house.

DSC08766I was pretty excited because I never feel like I contribute much to these adventures, even though I enjoy the scavenger hunt! However, I actually spotted the place we were given as a clue!

DSC08764We just missed getting back to the train platform in time, so we walked on over to the next stop. The kids were happy to take a break at a playground along the way.

We couldn’t find the geocache, but eventually, we did catch the train. Izzy was worried about something that I won’t share…meanwhile, Jonah was observing an Argentina insect.DSC08774

We took the train down to Brianna’s school and met up with her just as school was dismissing. She took the older kids back to the house with her and Izzy continued to geocache with her mom and I.

We managed to find two more out of three.

The Ceibo trees are all in bloom right now. It is the national tree of Argentina and typically grows near the water. We were actually right on the banks of the Rio de la Plata and there were tons of them. I only chose the one with the low hanging branches because it was easier to photograph.

After our final cache, we met Brianna and Courtney at the school again. They were going to practice their sports, and we used their remis to return home.DSC08782

DSC08797The local heladeria delivered our favorite ice flavors and Papa and the kids had their own little chess tournament.
