We woke up at 3.15 AM…not a typo. We were off to Titusville--five kids and 4 adults. We had Izzy and Jonah in our car and they never stopped talking the entire trip. This was our view as we looked across the water toward the launch pad.
6.20 am
Then the sky lit up. The launch was spectacularly beautiful. We waited for quite a few seconds after seeing it, and then we heard the rockets wage war with gravity. Amazing!
This one is someone else’s picture.
We were mesmerized for quite a number of minutes watching the solid rocket boosters fall and the beautiful plume and finally Discovery seeming almost to be a star.
Just before day break the STS noctilucent cloud is the final reminder of what we had witnessed.
But, even the sunrise that followed this morning seemed to be celebrating the glorious vision that preceded it.
Like a gazillion other people, we decided to spend the morning playing at the beach. It was the perfect day for it.
After lunch half the crew went home and the rest of us geocached Cocoa Beach. Our best find, however, was Tricia’s keys that she inadvertently dropped.
Thank heaven she found them. Those caching skills…coming in handy.

A phrase comes to mind about how I feel after reading this post. It involves the color green. Wish we could have been there for the fun. Just call me and say "wish you were here!" and it will make me feel a little better. :-)
Yeah, that looked like a "pritty-good-day!"
