I read an interesting article in Smithsonian today about immigration. I was surprised to learn that "the United States accept[s] more legal immigrants as permanent residents than the rest of the world combined..." Also interesting to me was that they stated "Nearly half of the nation's children under 5 belong to a racial or ethnic minority."
